We are a brand new, venture-funded, thus-far "stealth," electronics accessory business based in San Francisco seeking a marketing professional to support our upcoming launch. This new company is founded by a veteran who built a separate $20 million business in electronics accessories. One of the investors is an accomplished consumer marketing executive, based in Denver, who is helping from now through the January 2010 CES show in Las Vegas. This position reports to him. You will not need to meet often, but you MUST be based in Denver/Boulder area.
This is a three-month project -- a freelance position. If all goes well it could very well evolve into a fulltime job with higher pay down the road.
The focus is online marketing, with a PR emphasis. You must have experience and proven success in marketing a consumer product or service using PR, blogs, social media, IM, chat. It should run in your blood. If you have experience in SEO and paid online advertising all the better. You will research and compile media lists, and lists of influential blogs. You will be able to blast out information on our product to obtain maximum exposure using your limited time at maximum efficiency.
You are a rabid user of Facebook, Twitter, chat groups, etc. You are an avid reader of consumer tech blogs and media. You are promotionally minded and an excellent written and verbal communicator.

This is a seat-of-your-pants assignment for a raw startup company that requires flexibility, fast-action, and the ability to juggle and get a lot of good work done fast. The location for this position is in our denver office. 80% of hours will be in office.
This is a 20 hour/week job through January. Pay is $20/hour. You will be paid as a freelancer every two weeks, and be sent a 1099 in January.
