· Porcelain enamel on cast iron - This material is another popular choice for kitchen sinks because of its durability and it large range of quality, style, and colors. Porcelain enamel kitchen sinks usually last about 25 to 30 years or more. The surface of these type of kitchen sink is composed of ground glass melted and applied to the hot cast iron. This type of kitchen sink type is available for under mount, self-rimming, and tile-in installations. Because glass can easily break against this type of material it is necessary to use a sink mat.

Veterans Helping Returning Heroes!
There are two wonderful veterans in Florida helping disabled American heroes returning from Afghanistan and Iraq by raising funds to provide them with service dogs.
Jerry Kramer, 80, is a Korean War veteran and a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient. Irwin Stovroff, 86, is a World War II veteran, having served as a B-24 Bombardier. He was shot down while on his 35th mission and was captured and spent the last year of the war in a Nazi prison camp. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery.
These men, heroes themselves, started an organization that has supplied 52 service dogs to returning servicemen within the last year. No small feat when you consider it costs about $30,000 USD for a trained service dog.
I salute them, as well as the brown dogs (and my other brethren) that are serving our returning disabled veterans!
