National craft stamp manufacturer located in Elk Grove Village is seeking a high energy and motivated senior blogger and craft project designer for a part-time, 20 hour per week position. We publish one of the most active blogs in the papercrafting industry and we need someone capable of research, writing in a conversational style and developing blogging projects utilizing our products. Our sales are several times the industry average and we offer a stable environment with 17 years of growth and expansion.
Job Description
-Develop and maintain blog plan to mesh with the organizations Internet presence.
-Perform continuous enhancements and modifications to the blog.
-Design papercrafting projects including note cards, greeting cards and scrapbook pages using our stamps and ancillary products as the focal point.
-Assess new standards, technologies and trends. Formulate plans for future enhancements to blogging strategies.
-Use latest syndication and blogging tools with HTML, when appropriate.
-Produces a consistent visual image on blog(s) including project photography and image archives.
-Creates image links and ensure links are up-to-date.
-Respond promptly to blog comments and email.
-Provide metrics of traffic statistics, reports and blog comment feedback as assigned.
-Design, research, write/edit and create layouts for new articles.
-Act as liaison between blog readers and corporation.
-Interface collaboratively with web design team to insure cohesiveness between blog(s) and corporate web site.
Qualifications
-Knowledge of the papercraft and scrapbook industries.
-Currently has a significant blog presence in the papercrafting industry witha large readership base.
-Possess engaging "conversational" writing skills with a professional posture.
-Must be computer and Internet/search engine savvy to perform online research.
-Familiar with common blogging platforms (Blogger, Typepad & Wordpress).
- Basic html coding skills.
- Willingness to learn code structures specific to our business.
