The Visual Resources Center at Bard College is seeking a full time Curator of Visual Resources to provide our patrons with effective access to slides, digital images, and image technology training in order to enhance classroom experience and promote critical visual literacy skills. Our image collection consists of approximately 140,000 slides and 30,000 digital images that are made available to Bard faculty and students using the MDID (Madison Digital Image Database) and ARTstor image delivery systems. The Curator is responsible for overseeing image request workflows; delivery of faculty image requests; provides technology support for the Art History Program (including Photoshop, Powerpoint, ARTstor OIV, and Moodle.)
The successful candidate will have an MA in Art or Architectural History, or MLS with Art/Architectural History background or similar and a working knowledge of at least one foreign language, French, German, or Italian reading proficiency desirable. 2-4 years of supervisory experience in an academic visual resources collection or image archive, with at least 1 year of experience managing digital assets.
