New York furniture design company seeks an experienced and engaged individual who possesses initiative and discretion as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment to work for JOHNHOUSHMAND gallery.
A mature college graduate with a B.A. and a minimum of five years sales experience is ideal for this position. It will require the provision of support in both a hands-on and an administrative capacity. A sales associate will be asked to communicate directly with clients on behalf of JOHNHOUSHMAND and is therefore expected to have an eloquent and professional manner. We need a resourceful self-starter, able to think outside the box and deal creatively with wide range of situations. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills of communication, highly proficient knowledge of MS Office and Mac operating systems as well as precise attention to detail are required. Experience with AutoCAD and/or Sketch UP is a plus, as you will be required to read architectural drawings. Interior design experience and high-end furniture sales background, knowledge of wood species, furniture and sculpture fabrication as well as wood processing are also a plus.
Also, the individual that fills this position must be organized, confident and a troubleshooter; but, most importantly highly communicative.
Hours are Tuesday- Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The start date is immediately.

- Meet sales goals on a monthly basis.
- Research and recruit prospective clients.
- Respond and ensure timely resolution to client inquiries.
- Assist clients in furniture selection, custom design work and price quotes.
- Ensure each customer has a positive experience; answer questions and follow-up with questions.
- Accurately complete quotes and purchase orders.
- Work with Shop Manager to secure vendor prices.
- Collect deposits and payments from clients.
- Keep orderly records and manage deliveries.
- Answer all client questions regarding furniture and fine art gallery.
- Create and maintain personal weekly sales spreadsheet.
- Help with any administrative tasks and events.
