--> Full-Time Image Scanning Technician Opening

DVD Your Memories (www.dvdyourmemories.com), a leading family media transfer company, has an opening for a full-time image scanning technician. The working environment is fast-paced and challenging. But we also have fun with no charge LAN parties, free trips to theme parks, employee dinners, etc.

The technician would be scanning photos, slides and negatives using professional equipment. The most important thing about this job is that we don’t have room for error due to the sensitive nature of the media we are working with, so attention to detail is HUGE. Also, once the training process is complete and the technician is proficient with the job, multitasking will ensue. The technician will be personally allocated 3-4 computers and 7 scanners as needed.

The ideal candidate for this job will have a major interest in photography, especially in photography in the pre-digital era. The candidate must have exceptional computer skills to fit in with our culture. Having good people skills and customer service skills are imperative since the technician is also responsible for taking phone calls and front office orders. Sales ability is a plus!

Job Details:
-scan photos (using medium to large format flatbed scanners)
-scan slides/negatives (using the Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 and 9000 ED scanners)
-rotation/horizontal flipping, renaming, batch renaming of images (Photoshop, Bridge)
-burn DVD/CD of scanned images
-image restoration
-answering incoming phone calls (SALES SKILLS ARE A HUGE PLUS!!!)
-taking orders (especially from your department)


Requirements:
-good attitude, show up ready to work on-time
-sales and customer Service Experience
-familiarity with scanning terminology (DPI, file types - JPEG/TIFF)
-photoshop knowledge (the more the better)
-PC user
- attention to detail (due to the extremely sensitive nature of this media, we cannot afford mistakes)

Availability:
-Monday through Friday from 9AM-6PM and every once in a while half days on Saturday



Training pay starts between $9-10/hr. depending on experience. Once training is complete (1-4 weeks average) pay goes right to $10/ hr. Raises are given quarterly and are based on performance.
