JOB POSTING: Arts and Culture Intern
Part-Time: 20 to 30 hours per week
We are seeking a highly motivated graduate or undergraduate student with an interest in Arts and Culture, and specifically, in youth arts education. This is a part-time, paid internship to begin immediately and last through May, 2010 or beyond. The intern will report to the Arts and Culture Program Officer.
The selected candidate will participate in a recently launched initiative to enhance access to arts education for all children and youth in Philadelphia. Responsibilities will include research, internal report drafting, and the gathering, review, and synthesis of related information. The Arts and Culture Intern will develop a comprehensive understanding of the Foundation’s mission and objectives with respect to this new Philadelphia youth arts education endeavor.
Experience and education in an arts related discipline combined with an interest in developing art appreciation in youth is key. Candidates should possess excellent oral, written, and research skills, including strong detail orientation, capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and good judgment. Candidates should also possess office experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office XP.
