Assist working artist with studio practice and administration. The job will require the following:
Work directly with artist to provide administrative and personal assistance in all aspects of art studio practice.
Manage paperwork, maintain schedule, and co-ordinate travel arrangements. Set up and maintain files, co-ordinate purchase of supplies and materials, and manage photography, documentation, shipping and storage of artwork.
Maintain office equipment and studio facilities.
Manage correspondence in connection with sales and exhibition of artwork. Assist in sourcing exhibition opportunities. Act as liaison to art groups and other institutions.
Prepare and maintain chart of accounts, post accounting transactions, and reconcile bank statements. Manage accounts payable and receivables. Prepare computerized financial statements.
Manage website. Co--ordinate development and implementation of promotional materials, track exhibition opportunities, and manage exhibition application processes.
Skills needed: Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Word and Excel. Photoshop and QuickBooks experience a plus in a Mac environment. This position has opportunity for growth for the right person. The ideal candidate will have a bachelors or masters degree or equivalent work experience with an interest in fine arts, art history or museum or curatorial studies, is a self-starter, and has had experience telecommuting, working in a residential-type work environment, or in an arts oriented position.
