TITLE: PT - Art Room Instructor Lehi Branch
DEPARTMENT: Programs
REPORTS TO: Branch Supervisor
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Branch Supervisor, is responsible for implementing, organizing, and supervising all art programming.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
1. Discusses assigned teaching area with Branch Supervisor/Director to achieve instructional efforts.
2. Assists in planning, preparing, and developing various teaching aids.
3. Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
4. Assists in presenting subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role playing.
5. Assists in administering pre and post course tests.
6. May drive children to/from branch locations.
7. Assist with and attend field trips.
8. Confers with parents on progress of students.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop opportunities for Members to showcase artwork.
2. Ensure that the branch is represented in the annual Fine Arts and Photography Competitions.
3. Develop outcome measurements for art programming.
4. Ensure a well rounded and comprehensive arts and crafts program.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains daily contact with Youth Development Supervisor, Part-time Club staff, members and parents to receive/provide information and discuss issues.
External: Maintain relationships with community arts organizations.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent, plus meaningful work experience closely related to the tasks of the job.
Ability to plan and coordinate multiple and varied tasks.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Excellent team building and team leadership skills.
Energetic and motivated.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong customer service attitude
At least 21 years of age preferred.
Prior experience working with children in a learning environment preferred.
