Wicked cold. Prepare.

Its going to be cold tonight. And this snow and cold is a good prediction of whats to come. Time to prepare. Heres ideas:

I have sliding glass doors in my apartment. And these doors are sapping all my heat. But how do you cover an area that big and still be able to use them

I learned that bubble wrap is an excellent insulator. Spray some water on the glass and put on the bubble wrap then trim to fit (bubble part faces toward the glass). Im gonna do it inside and out.

You can also string up insulated curtains. I see these at thrift stores all the time.

Im also going to use my fireplace exclusively. I can do this cause my apartments so small. Using electric heat this winter will be prohibitive. The prices are going up and my incomes gone down. Wood is always plentiful during the winter. Check the Free Section in CL for scrap wood. You can get fire starter sticks most anywhere.

I have a feeling the Farmers Almanac is correct. Theyre predicting severe cold and snow for this area.

Time to get some wine and tend the fire.
