Well thats an interesting question friend. Most of the gold in Colorado is locked up in matrix rock. Truth is, commercial deposits of high grade gold ore in Colorado average about 1/10 ounce of gold per ton of waste. $106 worth for sorting though 2000 pounds of granite and quartz (after you grind it up and run it over shaker or float tables). Hardly worth drilling and shooting for. Panning is even worse odds, although the Blue and Clear Creek still cough up a decent nugget once in awhile, you could spend a year of weekends panning and not pay your gas money let alone time. Theres heap leaching old tailings piles too, like theyre still doing in Cripple Creek. But that takes permits, heavy equipment, and some awesomely poisonous chemicals like cyanide and mercury.

Some moneys been made mining gold in Colorado, but a lot mores been made mining Shareholders.
