By law you have a three day right of recission, after that you are stuck with what you bought.
I would think after you bought it and figured out something was wrong and you took it to a mechanic, probably at least two weeks have passed.
You made a bad purchase...either pay to have it fixed (if its worth it) or eat it.
Not to be harsh but next time ask for a car fax and have it checked out by a mechanic first. If the dealer offers you none of these options...walk away.
They know what they are selling....you dont know what your buying.
I do know a reputable used car dealer, I have bought several from him...never been dis-appointed and prices very good.
