HELP! Shy guy needs guidance

I’m shy.
I’m a 26 year old male. I’m smart, dress well, keep in shape, and have been told I’m a good looking guy. But, I’m very shy, and I have a hard time meeting people and making friends. My confidence is not nearly at the level it should be, I’m a pretty modest individual.

I’ve been shy for my entire life. It has been a constant apprehension and obstacle that has kept me from fully enjoying myself. While I have overcome some of my shyness, it still lingers overall.
Being shy really makes you apprehensive and fearful in social settings. I’m ok socializing one on one with another individual, but socializing in a group is a bit of a challenge I face.
Why am I shy I do not know. It has been a personality issue with me long enough; I want to get over it. But I’m wondering how.

While I know this may be a unique item to post on craigslist, I don’t know where else to turn. Can anyone please advise on a class/coach/service that assists one in overcoming shyness and pushes them to become more outgoing

If there really was a school for scoundrels, I’d probably enroll.
