. I totally agree with media man and the disappearance of our "inaliable rights" as Americans. I think the quote you posted last week from "Atlas Shrugged" pretty much hit the nail on the head in that there is no way to rule innocent men. "The only power a government has is to crack down on criminals. Well, when there arent enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws." I really have doubts about Americans being able to take back the rights granted to us in our Consititution and Bill of Rights I mean look at it this way.... About how much percentage of our US Senators and Representitives are lawyers I would say about anywhere from 60 ~75% wouldnt you So you put 65 school trained lawyers in a room of 100 to make laws what do you think is going to happen Damn skippy they are going to crank out laws like there is no tommorrow because that is their job, i dont believe that all politicans are crooks i think that a majority are well meaning, honest men and women for the most part. The problem is when the biggest block of voters (60 years & older) clamor for more "law and order" and "crackdown on criminal behavior" than toss in Law Enforcement scaring the living bejesus out of the geezers what is the law maker supposed to do When have you ever heard a politician say we dont need to make more criminals, we have more prisons and prisoners per capita than all the rest of the industrialized nations in the world combined. Law enforcement would not allow that to happen. Law enforcement is about fear and control and not at all about protecting your rights or freedoms. How come sheriff Joe never has a dui check point outside Sun City or any of the retirement gated communities You cant tell me that those senior, blue haired geezers arent driving while on some meds Thats a DUI but that aint going to happen. If they just had one check point and arrested about 30 or 40 seniors while driving on their prescritpton drugs and hauled into court and given a DUI the shit would hit the fan. I could imagine if you had both old men and women subjected to the treatment handed out by the thugs we call law enforcement at tent city what changes would happen Because according to state law most every prescription drug would qualify for a DUI. Now is that fair that the checkpoints only happen in areas where younger drivers are and in places where those with less income and less able to afford legal assistance happen to be Whats fair about that
